The Whitman House Museum will be hosting a community art exhibit. We are looking for submissions from people of all ages (no matter the skill level). Works must be submitted to the Whitman House Museum by August 8th and the gallery will be open to the public starting August 11th until August 18th. Entry to the museum is free! Come out, support the locals, and vote for your favorite. Prizes for the most voted under the age of 18 and over 18!

A Guided Tour of Wilmot Cemetery

“Historic Canso” Book Launch at the Canso Library & Resource Center
Written between 1928-1945 by John Morrison of Hazel Hill, this book chronicles 400 years of Canso’s history. Morrison was the former editor of the Canso Breeze and president of the Canso Board of Trade. Previously unpublished, the content has been carefully uncovered and compiled by Chris Cook to share John Morrison’s story of our town’s history. A copy of “Historic Canso” is $40.00, with all proceeds donated to the Guysborough Historical Society.

COLOR RUN! at the Chapel Gully Trail
(Ages 5+)
This is an untimed event on the small loop of the trail. Along the course, color runners are doused with different colored powders. Participants wear white at the starting line and finish the race plastered in color. This year’s event is free of charge, however, All donations will be given to the Eastern Tip Trails Association.
Note: We recommend wearing sunglasses or goggles and a mask to prevent excessive inhalation.
